Vortex Flowmeter Is Approved For Hazardous Areas

Sierra Instruments have developed their Innova-Flo range of volumetric vortex flow meters, both inline and insertion types to serve the process industry. They meet the need for reliable flow measurement of process fluids and gasses over a wide range of temperatures and pressures.
The Innova-Flo vortex flow meters are constructed from 316L stainless steel, C276 Hastalloy or A105 carbon steel and therefore these new additions to the range are compatible with a wide range of fluid or gas media. For example, the type 221 has been approved for use for hazardous fluids by FM, CSA, and CE.
Innova-Flo range of volumetric vortex flow meters feature:
- Direct reading of volumetric flow for liquids, steam or constant density gases.
- Product accuracy is ± 1.2% of rate for liquids and 1.5% of rate for gases and steam over a 30:1 range
- The unique insertion design with ANSI flanges may be used in process piping from 2-inches up to 72-inches
- The inline design is typically used for pipeline ranges from ½" to 8"
- The Model 240V allows for a constant density input calculating mass flow for incompressible fluids or constant density gas or steam flow. The product features loop power, and a 4-20 loop output.
- A separate totalizer pulse output is also standard.
To reduce billing and contract disputes, the sophisticated on-board flow computer also incorporates AGA-8 algorithms for natural gas measurement.
Access to all measured variables and programming menus, and permit field-configuration are provided directly by the smart electronics from the control panel or workstation via RS485, MODBUS or HART protocols.
Operating Environment:
Temperature
All type 240 Innova-Flo meters can operate in an ambient temperature range of -5°F to 140°F (-20° to 60°C). This provides an opportunities for most applications in the process industry.
With the standard sensor, the process fluid temperature range is 40°F to 460°F (-40° to 260°C) and with the high temperature sensor, this increases dramatically to -40°F to 750°F (40° to 400°C).
Pressure
Innova-Flo Volumetric Flow Meter range covers operating pressures up to 600psig for both insertion and inline types.
